Brataste sells a white indoor/outdoor weather station with a 7.5-inch VA display on Amazon. It keeps things simple: temperature, humidity, a pressure-based forecast, moon phase and an atomic clock, plus a USB port to charge your phone. Here is what it measures, the screen settings that trip people up, how long the forecast needs to settle, and what the listing does not tell you.
Short answer: the Brataste weather station (model 12335) is a no-Wi-Fi indoor/outdoor thermometer and hygrometer with a 7.5-inch VA screen (5 brightness levels), a WWVB atomic clock with 7 North American time zones and automatic daylight saving time, a forecast from the barometric pressure trend, moon phase, two alarms and a USB charging port. It comes with 1 outdoor sensor and takes up to 2 more. It does not measure wind or rain. Want the screen always on? Use the adapter and turn off Night Mode.

What the Listing Does Not Tell You
Good to know before you buy, because the Brataste listing is silent on these:
- Sensor range: no distance is given.
- Batteries: not said whether they are included, or which type the sensor takes.
- Weather resistance of the sensor: not stated.
- Extra sensors: the listing says they "can be purchased in the store", but does not name the matching part.
- Accuracy: no figures for temperature or humidity.
If one of these matters to you, ask the seller on Amazon before you order.
The Screen: Three Things Brataste Explains
- On batteries, the screen does not stay lit. Touch the top button and it lights for about 15 seconds. To keep it on, Brataste says to use the DC adapter and turn off Night Mode: "press and hold the top Light button for 3 seconds and select OFF."
- Dim screen and dead buttons after switching on? That is the atomic clock search (Brataste calls it the RCC signal-receiving stage). "It usually takes 5-7 minutes to return to normal." The station searches again at 1, 2 and 3 a.m., with the screen dark for about 7 minutes; if it stays dark afterwards, press the LIGHT button.
- Outdoor reading keeps flickering? The display is in cycle mode, showing channels 1 to 3 in turn. With only one sensor, Brataste says to press the CH button to cancel cycle mode and return to channel 1.

The Forecast Needs a Week or More
The forecast icons come from the barometric pressure trend, not from the internet. Brataste says the station predicts the weather for 8 to 12 miles around your home, and that it "requires 7 to 10 days for barometric calibration". That is Brataste's own claim; it is not a promise that the icons will be accurate afterwards. A pressure-trend forecast is a rough guide at best, so check a real forecast before important plans. Setup Notes
From the listing:
- Time zone first. Pick your time zone (AST, EST, CST, MST, PST, AKT or HAT); the clock then connects to WWVB and follows daylight saving time automatically.
- Weak signal? You can set the clock manually if the WWVB signal around your house is weak.
- Power. Brataste recommends the adapter, with batteries inside as a backup, so your settings survive a power cut.
- More rooms. Up to two extra sensors, so you can watch three places, for example outside, a basement and a garage.
Our advice (general practice, not from Brataste): since the listing says nothing about weather resistance, mount the outdoor sensor out of direct sun and rain, for example under an overhang on a shaded wall. Our installation guide has more placement tips.

Brataste Weather Station FAQ
Why does my Brataste screen turn off?
On batteries, the screen lights for about 15 seconds to save power. For a screen that stays on, use the DC adapter and turn off Night Mode: hold the top Light button for 3 seconds and select OFF.
Why is my Brataste screen dim and the buttons not working?
After switching on, the station searches for the atomic clock signal. Brataste says the screen dims and the buttons do not respond for usually 5 to 7 minutes. It searches again at 1, 2 and 3 a.m.
Why does the Brataste outdoor reading keep flickering?
The display is in cycle mode, switching between channels 1 to 3. With one sensor, press the CH button to cancel cycle mode and return to channel 1.
How long does the Brataste need to calibrate?
Brataste says the station requires 7 to 10 days of barometric calibration. That is the maker's claim; a pressure-based forecast stays a rough guide after that.
Does the Brataste measure wind or rain?
No. It measures indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity and gives a pressure-based forecast. For wind and rain you need a full weather station.
