AIRAIN TECH sells its weather station as a set with two indoor displays and one outdoor sensor for wind, rain, temperature and humidity. The model is the A8D-1. With most no-Wi-Fi stations you see the weather in one room only; with this set you can put one screen in the kitchen and one in the bedroom or office, both fed by the same sensor in the yard. Here is what the listing promises, what is in the box, the one thing the listing leaves open, and what owners of the single-display version report.

We have not verified the accuracy figures. One more thing: the listing's short "Included Components" field mentions only one "display console"; the full package list names two display units.

Why Two Displays, and the One Open Question

A second display gives you the outdoor weather in two rooms without an app. That suits a two-story house, a home office, or a household where one person wants the wind and rain in the kitchen and another wants the temperature by the bed.

The open question: the package list includes one power adapter for two displays, and the listing does not say how the second display is powered. Ask AIRAIN TECH support (or check the manual) before you plan where both screens go, so you know whether you need a second adapter or batteries.

How It Relates to the Single-Display AIRAIN TECH A8

The single-display 14-in-1 (model A8) also has an 8.5-inch color screen and the same list of readings; we cover it in our AIRAIN TECH 14-in-1 review. The model numbers line up (A8 and A8D-1), but the dual listing does not say whether its displays are identical to the A8, so we do not assume it. The smaller 10-in-1 has a 7.3-inch screen; see our AIRAIN TECH 10-in-1 review. If one screen is enough, the single-display versions are worth comparing.

About owner feedback: for the single-display A8, Amazon's summary of owner reviews mentioned sensor drop-outs and mixed feedback on the manual (see our A8 review). We have no such data for the A8D-1 dual set, so we do not assume the same applies. Check the reviews on the dual set's own listing before you buy.

Setup Notes

From the listing:

• Pairing: AIRAIN TECH says the outdoor sensor "automatically pairs and syncs data to the display upon power-on".
• Mounting: the sensor comes with an adjustable-angle bracket, a backplate bracket and a mounting pole.
• Batteries: 3 AA batteries are included (the listing does not say which unit takes them).

Our advice (general weather station practice, not from AIRAIN TECH):

• Power up the sensor and both displays close together for the first connection, then move the sensor to its spot.
