Step-by-Step Fix: Rain Gauge Not Recording

  1. Check the station is level. A tipping bucket rain gauge must be perfectly level to function correctly. If the station mount has shifted — from wind, ground movement, or a knock — the bucket will sit off-centre and fail to tip. Use a spirit level on the top of the station housing and adjust the mount until it reads level in both directions.
